Instructor
Classes are taught by Richard D. Wright Jr., a retired law enforcement officer with 20 years of law-enforcement experience and a former tactical team member. Richard is NRA certified, U.S. LawShield certified, a Certified Range Safety Officer and certified by the State of Illinois to teach the Illinois Concealed Carry course. Read more about Richard.
Live-Fire Qualification
The Illinois qualification is 30 rounds: 10 at 5 yards, 10 at 7 yards and 10 at 10 yards. The passing standard is 70% — at least 21 of 30 rounds in the black.
Registering
Registration asks for your driver's license, FOID card (if you have one), current CCL for renewals, DD214 for the military exemption, any health or accommodation information staff should know, and your acknowledgment of the prepayment, no-show/nonrefundable, unsafe-conduct removal, assumption-of-risk and range safety policies. Payment is required in advance to reserve a seat. Online registration generally closes at 11:00 PM (Central) the day before class.
Gun rental is available for $20, and 9mm ammunition is $16 per box.
