Richard D. Wright Jr.
Richard is the owner and lead instructor of Wright Firearms Training. He is a retired law enforcement officer with 20 years of law-enforcement experience, including service as a member of a tactical team. That background supports a calm, professional teaching style focused on safety, communication and practical decision-making.
Richard is certified by the State of Illinois to teach the Illinois Concealed Carry course, is NRA certified, is a Certified Range Safety Officer and is U.S. LawShield certified — Richard states he was the first U.S. LawShield instructor in Illinois. He also serves as a Church Security Team director.
Classes are designed for real students—from first-time firearm owners to experienced shooters completing Illinois concealed-carry or renewal requirements. Questions are encouraged, and students receive patient guidance throughout classroom and range instruction.
