Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use this website or register for training with Wright Firearms Training ("WFT", "we", "us"), owned and operated by Richard D. Wright Jr. By registering for a class or using this website you agree to them. The documents you sign at registration — the Document of Understanding and the Acknowledgement of Risks and Assumption of Risk and Responsibility — also apply, and they control if anything here conflicts with them.
1. Registration
- Register with your own accurate, legal information. Never upload another person's identification documents.
- Registration asks for your driver's license, FOID card (if you have one), current CCL for renewal students, DD214 for the military exemption, and any health or accommodation information staff should know about.
- Online registration generally closes at 11:00 PM (Central) the day before class, unless a different deadline is posted for that class.
- Military exemption credit is not automatic. WFT reviews the DD214/NGB 22 you provide, and final credit is determined by the instructor and applicable Illinois requirements.
2. Payment, cancellations, no-shows and transfers
This is the Refund / Cancellation / No-Show Policy you accept at registration:
- Prepayment: Payment is required in advance to reserve a seat.
- No-shows: Payments are non-refundable for no-shows.
- Late cancellations: A $35 range fee is retained for cancellations without 24-hour notice.
- Transfers: A no-show may attend an available later class within one year under Wright Firearms Training policy.
Current prices are $100 for the 16-hour Illinois Concealed Carry course, $55 for the 3-hour renewal and $65 for the 8-hour military exemption course. Gun rental is $20 and 9mm ammunition is $16 per box. Payments are made through Venmo or Cash App; card details are never entered on this website.
3. Completing the course
- Full 16-hour students must complete both required days. No certificate is issued until all required training is completed.
- The Illinois live-fire qualification is 30 rounds — 10 at 5 yards, 10 at 7 yards and 10 at 10 yards. The passing standard is 70%: at least 21 of 30 rounds in the black. You must pass the qualification to receive a course completion certificate.
4. Range safety and removal for unsafe conduct
- You must follow the range safety rules and all instructor commands, including muzzle discipline, trigger-finger discipline and cease-fire commands.
- Unsafe or willfully noncompliant conduct may result in immediate removal from the class and denial of certification. As stated in the Acknowledgement of Risks, a student who continually or willfully fails to observe safety procedures agrees to expulsion from the training program and forfeiture of tuition.
- Bring the equipment listed on our What to Bring list, including eye and ear protection. Bring a safe, functioning firearm unless you are renting one.
5. Assumption of risk
Firearms training involves inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury. When you register, you sign the Acknowledgement of Risks and Assumption of Risk and Responsibility, in which you assume the risks of participating, including the handling of any firearms, release WFT, its owner Richard D. Wright Jr., its instructors, agents and operators from claims arising from your attendance, and confirm that you are in good physical and mental health. Please read that document in full before you sign it; it is displayed on the registration form.
6. Using this website
